Prototype Sim Racing Wheel

Testing out the wood simracing steering wheel!

I had an idea to make a Sim Racing steering wheel with the tools that I have! After coming up with an original wheel design I transferred my ideas to a 3D model using Fusion360 by Autodesk - check it out, it's FREE!

From the original design in Illustrator it was very simple to create the g-code tool paths for the CNC to machine the wheel. Next, using Fusion360 again, I designed the gear shifter levers and printed them on my Scoovo.

After machining the prototype design of the IP Sim Racing steering wheel and soldering the gear shift switches to the donor GT Force Pro steering base, it was time to test!
